EF Coaching Services
What is my Coaching Process?
My coaching process reduces anxiety, frustration, and overwhelm for both parents and students by teaching organization, planning, and time management through a strength-based approach. I help students and families feel empowered and prepared to navigate life. I also offer other support services for parents who are just beginning to navigate this journey and need advice and coaching around their student’s needs.
Executive Function Coaching Services
- EF Coaching: Varies by client, but typically is 1-2/week for 30-60 minutes.
- Family Team Meetings: Included in Weekly EF Coaching Varies by client, but typically is every 4-6 weeks as part of the normal EF Coaching session or can be scheduled separately.
For Executive Function Coaching - First the student and/or parent and I will review the tools available and how we might track work, assignments, etc. (e.g. MyHomeWork App).
After 4-6 weeks, I will schedule a parent/student check in, either in lieu of or in addition to the student's regular session, depending on parents/student’s needs.
Clients might request a review of student successes, ask any questions and refine and/or set new goals for what to focus on over the next four weeks.
Parent involvement is key to make this engagement effective and ensure this skill is applied across all settings as the students build on positive experiences.
I ask parents to wait until family meetings or consultation time to engage so that we can maximize our time one-on-one with our student.
Coaching / Support / Guidance Services
You may require additional coaching and/or support needs (IEPs, 504s) and/or navigating resources, where to start and just need someone at your side to help guide you through the process and provide parental advise, be a sounding board and offer additional support, check in’s and/or help as needed.
I am very resourceful, and knowledgeable about the resources in the Portland metropolitan area and can help guide. The goal of these services is to help you get started, have a plan and then where to guide you if a deeper level of support for IEP/504s, etc is needed.
We would identify / agree on the goals/timeline and budget so that we are clear on the path forward.
